KOTOBILJ
The recreational area of Kotobilj is located in the Herceg Novi hinterland, at an altitude of 275 to 481 m. One can reach it by a marked mountainous footpath from the Herceg Novi bus station (30 min), or by car on route Meljine – Tribune (10 min). It is possible to tour marked destinations in an easy two-hour walk by taking mountainous footpaths.
The Mediterranean, blackwood trees prevail in this recreation zone. In higher zones, the vegetation is more modest, but richer in bushy, healing herbs.

SAVINSKA DUBRAVA PARK
From the former motel »Dubrava« (today’s headquarters of the Hotel-Tourist Company »Boka« AD) to the East side of the city, towards Meljine, there is a road leading to Savinska Dubrava. Throughout the entire Dubrava, amongst cypresses, pine trees, chestnut trees, hornbeams and oak trees, there are windy footpaths ideal for recreation along with several gorgeous sightseeing spots.
A unique attraction is a century old oak tree “medunac”, situated in the middle of the asphalt road in front of the entrance to the Savina Monastery. The oak tree keeps standing tall and strong despite the cars passing by.

PET DANICA WALKWAY (ŠETALIŠTE PET DANICA)
It extends along the seashore from Igalo to Meljine, along the tracks of a former railroad and is 6 km long. Due to its proximity of the sea, extraordinary flora and its effects on one’s body, this Walkway is very often called the »Path of Health«.
It is an indispensable part of therapies that patients of the Igalo Institute undergo as well as patients of the Army Hospital Meljine, and it is ideal for recreational purposes.

ORJEN
Coming from Herceg Novi, there is a road leading to Vrbanj which takes 45 minutes. Also, depending on your age and the shape you are in, there are marked pathways for footpath tours leading to Orjen or Subra. From Subra to Orjenske lokve, to the Inn »Alpina« at a height of 1,610 m, one can enjoy a jeep safari. Mountaineering lovers have at their disposal a marked path, i.e. the PATH OF VAREŠANIN named after an Austro-Hungarian general who created it at the end of the 19th century.
The most adventurous jeep safari tour is a circular one: Herceg Novi-Kameno-Ubli-Crkvice-Orjenska lokva-Vrbanj.
