“PUBLIC CULTURAL INSTITUTION HERCEG-FEST”
A public institution of culture, set up in 1992, and in July of 1994, it was unified with the Film Enterprise “Orjen”. Its basic activity is the production of festivals and the organization of cultural-entertainment life and program in the city. They produce the “Mimosa Festival”, “Sunny steps”, Herceg Novi Film Festival.

CITY ARCHIVES
It is open since 1956, from the moment when the archives’ items were returned from Zadar, where Italians took them during the World War II. The original edifice was built in 1885 and was seriously damaged in the catastrophic 1979 earthquake.
Soon afterwards it was renovated and further developed.
The Archives cover an area of 700 m2 with a state-of-the-art equipment. Within the Archives, there is a library and a reading room open to everyone on daily basis. The oldest document in the Archives dates back to 1685. Librarian fund comprises about 30,000 books and about 1,000 periodicals.

CITY MUSEUM
The City Museum was founded in 1949 and opened in 1953. The very building, in which the museum is situated, has been built more than 150 years ago, and it is a legacy of one of the Herceg Novi mayors, Mirko Komnenović (1870-1941) and his wife Olga.

CITY LIBRARY
The Library encompasses over 30,000 books. The most significant
are legacies of DUŠAN PETKOVIĆ (5,000 books) and VELJKO RADOJEVIĆ (1,500 books), as well as books given as gifts by prominent families of Doklestić, Daljev, Lučić, Subotić... A heritage collection has been formed as well.
